The North River Watershed Management Plan Implementation Project has been recognized by the Federal Highway Administration as a demonstration of of how Alabama and it's partners are implementing Strategic Habitat Conservation and Landscape Conservation Cooperatives (LCCs).
Strategic Habitat conservation is an initiative by the US Fish & Wildlife Service to conserve and improve remaining quality habitat for threatened and endangered species.
