Meet Your Facilitator


Heidi Richards, Coosa Basin Facilitator 


Heidi Richards and her husband, Allen, reside in Bessemer, Alabama.  She graduated  with a B.S. degree in Agronomy and Soils (Crop Production Option) in 1985 from Auburn University. Heidi’s work experience includes having served as a Soil Scientist and District Conservationist with the USDA-NRCS in Pickens, Tuscaloosa, Randolph, and Fayette Counties. More recently she has served as RC&D Coordinator for Coosa Valley Resource Conservation &  Development Council located in Oxford, AL (2002 – 2007) and the Cawaco Resource Conservation & Development Council in Birmingham (2007 – 2011) where she supported the Alabama Clean Water Partnership’s Coosa, Black Warrior and Cahaba basin facilitators .
            Heidi’s experience in grant and project management, development and fostering of successful partnerships across agencies and organizations, her knowledge of and connection to Coosa stakeholders/partners and her professional background in soil erosion and water quality will benefit water quality in the Coosa Basin.
